Minnesota West Community & Technical College has received funding from AT&T for high school students grades 9-12 to participate in a 2-credit Safety Awareness class. There will be an informational meeting on Monday, September 19th at 3:30 pm at the learning Center in Marshall (MATEC), or in Room 212 on the Worthington Campus.
As a student in these classes, individuals will be challenged with a blended learning approach including lectures; self paced studies, online labs, and "homework", presentations and individual & group activities. These will each contribute to developing high performance manufacturing skills.
To assure increased participant completion and skills mastery, career pathway training, work experience, and support services will be provided through the project partnership as applicable and available. Additional instruction will enhance participants' Basic English and Math comprehension, computer/technology literacy, work readiness, soft skills, and employability skills. They will also receive their OSHA 10 card.
