What?
Learn, hack, fix, and explore cyber security.
DSU GenCyber is a Cyber Security camp designed for high school students entering grades 10 through 12. Students will participate in hands-on education sessions with DSU professors, alumni, and current students as well as other industry professionals.
The camp's main purpose is to educate and excite groups of students that may not have considered studying and working in cyber security.
Students do not need any prior background or experience in security or computers to attend.
When?
June 26 - July 1
July 10 - July 15
Summer 2016 on the DSU campus in Madison, SD. Register late afternoon on Sunday and check-out around noon on Friday. Our two camp dates are June 26 - July 1, and July 10 - July 15.
You will be in the DSU dorms Sunday - Thursday night with current DSU students acting as camp counselors. Parking is free on campus, but we will be keeping everybody's car keys during the week. No worries -- you'll be plenty busy with camp anyway!
Cost?
FREE! Yes, we said free! Just get registered so we can plan on your participation in the camp!
Dakota State has recently applied for a grant from the National Security Agency (NSA) and National Science Foundation (NSF) to develop and host a cyber security camp. The grant will allow DSU to host nearly 200 students on-campus for the camp at no cost to the student.
We're also going to load you up with some epic gear from the camp! All sorts of goodies will be yours to keep from the week.
