Summer Job Opportunity for Graduating Seniors!

Hello,

My name is Abbie Orozco and I am a Camp Director with the Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa. I would like to offer an employment opportunity to graduating seniors or students who will be age 18 by June 15th. We still have a few counselor positions available this summer that may be a good fit for students!  We are hiring for two camps located in Boone and Clear Lake, IA.  I have attached a flyer, application, and job description for you to use, if this is something you are able to promote. Here are a few highlights that can help in decision making:

·         Work Schedule: June 5 – August 11, with breaks between sessions and a long break over the Fourth of July.  If you are interested, but have a conflict with a small number of the days we work, go ahead and apply, as we can likely work through your absence.

·         Salary: The Unit Counselors salary range is $2000 - $2400, based on experience and additional skills (i.e. lifeguard certification).

·         What’s the job like?  Being a counselor can be one of the most rewarding jobs you will ever have!  Every day, you will work with young campers, helping them to grow, develop, and have fun at camp!   Yes, you will be working hard!  See the included job description for more details.

Please look through the enclosed materials and if you are interested in working, send in your application as soon as possible, preferably by April 12, 2015.  Your compensation package will include your salary for the summer, excellent training, certifications (such as First Aid and CPR), plus room, board, and a terrific work experience!  Applications can be mailed to the Des Moines Girl Scout office:

Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa
Attn: Camp Application
10715 Hickman Road
Des Moines, IA 50322

Please let us know if this is an opportunity you can let student know about. If there are any questions, please call or email us! Thank you!
