The Chantell Cooley Leadership Scholarship for Women provided financial assistance to women seeking a residential degree at Waldorf University. These scholarships, up to full tuition, will be awarded to several women based upon their leadership potential and membership in specific, co-curriculuar campus organizations, which include:

  • Art
  • Campus Ministry
  • Creative Writing
  • Digital Media
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Historia
  • Honors
  • STEM-Biology
  • Service Learning/Rotaract

Law Enforcement Day at MN West!

The law enforcement program at Minnesota West Community & Technical College, Worthington campus will be holding a law enforcement day on Wednesday October 26th, 2016. The law enforcement day is set up to allow potential students to come to the Worthington campus to “sit in” on a typical day’s classes that law enforcement students attend while in the program. This will give potential students a feeling for the program and allow them to meet the instructors, tour the campus and program facilities, and receive information on the program.

This day will also allow students to apply during free application week and not be charged an application fee. The requirements to get into the program and law enforcement packets will be covered on that day.

Schedule for the day will include:
  • 8:00AM – 9:00AM: Meet in the Annex, of the Health and Wellness Center for greeting and the physical fitness class for law enforcement
  • 9:00AM – 10:00AM: Annex, for defensive tactics and firearms class
  • 10:30AM – Noon: Classroom 203, for Criminal and constitutional law class
  • Noon – 1PM: Commons, Lunch and overview of the law enforcement program

Free 2-Credit Safety Awareness Class

​Minnesota West Community & Technical College has received funding from AT&T for high school students grades 9-12 to participate in a 2-credit Safety Awareness class. There will be an informational meeting on Monday, September 19th at 3:30 pm at the learning Center in Marshall (MATEC), or in Room 212 on the Worthington Campus. 

As a student in these classes, individuals will be challenged with a blended learning approach including lectures; self paced studies, online labs, and "homework", presentations and individual & group activities. These will each contribute to developing high performance manufacturing skills.

To assure increased participant completion and skills mastery, career pathway training, work experience, and support services will be provided through the project partnership as applicable and available. Additional instruction will enhance participants' Basic English and Math comprehension, computer/technology literacy, work readiness, soft skills, and employability skills. They will also receive their OSHA 10 card.

William Penn University's Humanities Experience

You are invited to William Penn University's Humanities Experience, a hands-on conference on Tuesday, October 18th. ​

William Penn has traditionally held a Digital Communications Day, a career exploration event for students interested in television news, radio broadcasting, video production and multimedia journalism. This year, they are expanding the day to include additional occupational exploration for careers within music, theatre, art and English.

DMACC Discover Auto and Diesel Day

This event is designed for students interested in exploring future educational and career options in the following areas: Auto Collision, Auto Technology, and Diesel. Students will have the opportunity to get a first-hand look at careers in these areas by touring a local business and interacting with employers at the Auto & Diesel Employer Showcase during lunch. 

Students will learn about the 4 Manufacturing Based Programs, which allow students to have a paid work experience while earning their 2-year associates degree. DMASS is the only school in Iowa that offers partnership programs with Ford, Chrysler, CAT and GM. 
  • ​ASEP (Automotive Service Education Program), co-sponsored by DMACC and General Motors
  • ASSET (the Automotive Student Service Educational Training Program), co-sponsored by DMACC and Ford
  • MOPAR CAP (the College Automotive Program), a partnership between DMACC and Chrysler, Dodge & Jeep
  • CAT, a partnership between Ziegler Cat and DMACC)

United States Senate Youth Program Application


The US Senate Youth Program is a unique educational experience for outstanding high school students interested in pursuing careers in public service.

The annual program will be held in Washington, D.C., from March 4-11. Two student leaders from each state will gather for an intensive week-long study of government and those who lead it. In addition, each selected delegate receives a $10,000 scholarship. The overall mission of the program is to help instill knowledge of the American political process and a lifelong commitment to public service.

Oct. 3 is the first of numerous deadlines for application to the program. Additional program information and application materials can be found here.

Dordt College offers new 2-year programs!

Dordt College, traditionally a four-year private college, is now offering a unique opportunity for students desiring a hands-on, skill-focused trajectory alongside the opportunity for a Christian perspective and community experience.

Pro-Tech is an innovative program that gives students vocational training combined with Christian education. This program offers two-year associate of science degrees in manufacturing technology and farm operations and management. These two programs will launch in Fall 2017.

Manufacturing Technology: Students build skills using advanced manufacturing equipment. They learn strategies to manage workflow and ensure quality in order to meet critical needs in our world. 

  • Career Opportunities: Production management, continuous improvement, quality control, maintenance, operations management, industrial assembly, and more!
Agriculture: Farm Operations and Management: Students gain applied skills and experience in agriculture operations. They learn strategies to manage farms and agriculture enterprises. 
  • Career Opportunities: Crop protection, soil sampling, agriculture sales, precision agriculture, feedmill operations, and more!

UNI Business Day Event

​UNIBusiness Day is a special visit day dedicated to high school students who have an interest and aptitude for business. It is the perfect opportunity for students to learn more about how UNI's nationally recognized program can assist them in landing the career of their dreams.

UNIBusiness Day activities include:

  • Free lunch at one of UNI's dining centers
  • An interactive presentation about how students can impact the world through business

​This is scholarship is for any female student that does not plan to play collegiate athletics or get involved in fine arts programs.
