U of Iowa Mini Medical School

The Cancer Puzzle: Putting the Pieces Together
Monday, March 28th, 6:30-7:30pm
Okoboji Arrowwood Hotel & Conference Center

Cancer is a complex disease, and genetics is an important part of the puzzle. Genes are the intricate pieces of DNA inside each of our cells that tell them how to work properly. Changes to these genes - known as mutations-can lead to cancer when genetic mutations cause cells to divide and grow out of control.

In this special statewide Mini Medical School presentation, cancer researcher, Adam Dupuy, PhD, at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine, will discuss the role genetic mutations play in the development of cancer cells and tumors, how cancer spreads, and how it responds to treatments. Join us to learn more about how cancer-causing genes can lead to new cancer therapies that are both precise and personalized for each patient.

This FREE educational program has limited space, registration is required. Register Today: medicine.uiowa.edu/community or call 877-MED-IOWA

You do not need science or medical background to participate. Please invite friends, family, students, educators, colleagues and retirees to join you at this special program.
